So what's up with me? Since high school I've done plenty. The weekend after graduation, I moved with my parents to Kingman, Arizona. My dad took a job as the City Engineer for the City of Kingman. I was kind of a bum the summer of 1988 before heading off to Brigham Young University in August. I started off studying Geology in the fall of 1988.
Summer of 1989 I worked as a general laborer at Cyprus Mineral Park, just outside of Kingman. Cyprus was running a leaching program that used chemical processes to extract copper from their mining dumps. I spent the summer fixing sprinklers and running heavy equipment.
From August 1989 to August 1991 I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to South Texas. I served in Harlingen, Portland, Weslaco and Corpus Christi, Texas.
After my mission I returned to school at BYU to pursue a degree in Geography with a minor in Spanish. During school I worked at the BYU Creamery serving ice cream. During the summers I worked at Radio Shack in Kingman.
In 1993, I moved to the foreign language house to seriously pursue my interest in Spanish. While I lived there I met a beautiful woman from the Dominican Republic, Maria Pilier. We were married in August 1994. That was also when I graduated with my bachelor's.
During this time I had jobs with World Wide Photo, Cadd Edge and the Tree of Light Institute, all of which helped pay the bills. I broke into a job in my field of study in May of 1995 with a GIS internship with the City of Orem, Utah.
In June 1996, Maria and I bought a home in Provo and in January of 1997 we had out first child, a little girl named Jenika.
In October 1998, I got an internship with the US Army at Dugway Proving Ground. Then in January 1999, I was hired full-time at the City of Orem as the Storm Water Quality Specialist.
In March, we had a second girl named Alexa and in October Maria's mother came to live with us. We are building a house in Provo and hope to be moved in by December. And that's it for now.
